Mark Insley, President

Latitude Founder, President, and Chief Engineer, Mark Insley formed Latitude Technologies in 2001 with the specific objective of developing and marketing TCP/IP based telematics equipment and services, particularly for the remote management of location and status for critical assets.  This followed Mark’s five-year involvement as Co-Founder and Director of Engineering for Bfound.com Services, Inc., now part of Openwave Systems (NASDAQ: OPWV).

Mark is an internationally recognized expert in wireless tracking and data management solutions.  At Latitude, Mark leads our world-class engineering team in the research and development of new satcom-supported data gathering, monitoring, and reporting technologies.  This follows on Mark’s lead role in the design and development of Bfound’s core automated vehicle location/computer-assisted distribution (AVL/CAD) hardware technology.  The technology was utilized by Bfound to build wireless tracking system concepts into demonstrable and marketable products, on a scalable web-based distributed application.

Mark’s systems engineering credentials include work in satellite navigation technologies, digital hardware design, packet radio application development, marine biology tracking solutions, and Internet protocols and TCP/IP-based applications for mission-critical monitoring, reporting, and dispatch.  Mark is a graduate of the University of Victoria, a professional engineer, an original member of the Bluetooth SIG, and a practicing member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (APEG-BC) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
