Universal Avionics provider of the UniLink Communication Management Unit (CMU) and FMS systems for FANS and CPDLC, have recognized Latitude’s DL150 as a compatible Satellite Data Unit (SDU) with their UL-800 and UL-801 CMU.
Latitude Technologies Corporation has completed successful system testing and STC inclusion for the company’s DL150 Satellite Data Unit (SDU) with Universal Avionics Authorized Dealer, Chicago Jet Group. The DL150 SDU provides the satellite connectivity for a Future Air Navigation System (FANS) 1/A+ Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC) system, allowing capture and retransmission of SatCom messages. This offers another affordable solution for owners retrofitting their aircraft to meet the FANS and Safety Services mandate deadlines.
About the Universal Avionics UniLink System
The Universal Avionics UniLink UL-800 and UL-801 Communications Management Unit (CMU) provides superior operations and control of digital communications between the pilot and Air Traffic Controller (ATC) in the exceedingly complex Communication, Navigation, Surveillance (CNS) Air Traffic Management (ATM) environment. Developed in full compliance with DO-178B Level C guidelines, the UniLink UL-800/801 CMU also meets FANS 1/A+ standards. Combined with the Universal Avionics Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS)–Flight Management System (FMS), the UniLink UL-800/801 CMU provides an opportunity to take full advantage of the safety and efficiency benefits that advanced data link capabilities offer.
